Cookie Policy

In short: we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our site relies on a small amount of essential browser storage to work properly, and some third party services we load may set their own cookies. This page explains the details.

Last updated: 5 August 2026

1. About This Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Kinstart uses cookies and similar technologies on kinstartdigital.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

2. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device. "Similar technologies" include browser storage mechanisms such as:

  • Local storage: data a site can keep in your browser until it is cleared.
  • Session storage: temporary data that is cleared when you close the browser tab.

These can be set by the website you visit ("first party") or by other services whose content the page loads ("third party").

3. Categories of Cookies (and What We Actually Use)

Cookies are commonly grouped into four categories. Here is what each means and whether we use it:

  • Strictly necessary: needed for the site to work and to keep it secure. We use a small amount of essential browser storage in this category (see the table below).
  • Preference / functionality: remember choices you make, such as your light/dark theme. We use first party browser storage for this.
  • Analytics: measure how the site is used. We do not currently run analytics (see section 6).
  • Marketing / tracking: used for advertising or tracking across sites. We do not use these.

Because we currently set only strictly necessary and functional first party storage, the site does not display a cookie consent banner. If we introduce analytics or other optional cookies in the future, we will provide a consent mechanism and update this policy first.

4. Browser Storage We Currently Use

To the best of our knowledge, our own code does not set tracking cookies. It uses the following first party browser storage:

Name Type Purpose Retention
theme Local storage Remembers your light/dark theme preference. Until you clear it
kinstartContactSubmittedAt Session storage Helps prevent repeated or spam contact form submissions in a short window. Cleared when you close the tab

You can clear this storage at any time through your browser settings (see section 7).

5. Third Party Services That May Set Cookies

Some pages load resources or send messages through third parties. These providers may set their own cookies or receive technical data (such as your IP address) when their content loads. They act under their own policies:

  • Hosting (Vercel): serves the website and keeps standard server logs.
  • Fonts and frontend libraries (such as Google Fonts and public script CDNs): used to load fonts and page features.
  • SendGrid: used on the server to deliver contact and readiness self-check notifications and to manage security-updates subscriptions when a visitor explicitly opts in.
  • WhatsApp and social media links: external platforms you reach only if you choose to click through.

6. Analytics Status

We do not currently run website analytics. Our codebase includes an optional Google Analytics integration that is disabled by default and is not active. If we enable it or any similar measurement in the future, it would set analytics cookies, we would update this policy, and we would ask for your consent where required before doing so.

7. How to Manage or Remove Cookies and Storage

You can control or delete cookies and browser storage at any time through your browser settings. This typically lets you view stored data, block cookies, and clear existing data for a site:

  • Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Settings › Privacy › Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions

Clearing our essential storage is safe. It may simply reset your theme preference. Blocking all cookies and storage can affect how some websites behave generally.

8. International Data Transfers

Some third party providers referenced above may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens and EU data protection law applies, such transfers should be covered by an appropriate safeguard. See the "International Data Transfers" section of our Privacy Policy for more detail.

9. Children

Our website is intended for businesses and adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly use cookies or similar technologies to collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our website or the technologies we use change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page.

11. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Cookie Policy, contact us at privacy@kinstartdigital.com or info@kinstartdigital.com, or by phone at +372 (589) 85717. If you are in the EU and have concerns, you may also contact the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or your local supervisory authority.

For more on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy. This policy is provided in plain language to explain our practices; it is not legal advice and has not been certified as fully compliant by a qualified lawyer.
